An imagery typology executed by an AI generator of the GANs & Diffusions Models algorithmic models depicts unconventional mechanical circuits with the description/command: “Lens 85mm, high-resolution greyscale, close-up frame, a still-life where you can imagine your adversarial networks as a self or a place.”
In the context of a Post-Principle of sufficient reason era, where reason is rationalized as a binary code of communication (text/image, generator/discriminator, artist/viewer, artificial/physical, bot/human), the series of images does not dwell on how our artificial intelligence transports us to a new era of images but focuses on anthropotechnical points and markings where the image is paraphrased or shaped as a rastional verbal-visual.
If we persist in looking at the still-life idols where the algorithm visualizes a ‘place’ and a ‘self,’ as well as the symbolic status, we may never understand how human emotional experience, understood as non-linguistic, bodily intensity, is by image and analogy an asymmetric process of a world of self-maturation and self-reference.
Through this series, we are called to think-create a ‘self-referential observation’ of the operator and not the creator, the systematic process and not the computational commands.
