In the summer of 1943 the 17 year-old Jacek Zieliniewicz was arrested and deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau. In the spring of 1945 he survived a death march to the Reich. After his liberation, till the December of 1945 he lived in the French Occupation Zone before the return to his hometown Janowiec in Poland.
