…In Cahier de doléances, her first major series made in 2009-10 at the end of her studies at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, she established a parallel between animals and humans. She believes that they share the same behaviors, which basically come down to mating and predation—and often the two words designate the same action. Her notion of erotic has little to do with sensuality; rather it is close to Georges Bataille in its emphasis on violence and suffering.
