Photographs included in ‘The Periodic Table’ are a metaphysical inquiry into unseen energies, atomic potential, and the space and light particular to the desert. Trained as a painter, Kuiper’s photographs look to the immediate world to explore the formal elements of surface, color, and light– the ways in which the every day evokes the unknown.
