Kingdoms of Uncertainties explores how territories and cities are marked by different time periods. This project started around the neighboring towns of Beaumont-Sur-Oise, a multi-millennial city, and Persan, a recent city. Both located in the north of Île-de-France which surrounds Paris, separated by the Oise River and joined by a bridge, I sketched a portrait of these two towns and their inhabitants by observing the links that unite them. Between landscapes, street photographs and posed portraits, I traced a subjective cartography of these places, as much political as poetic, while evoking their past and present histories, between the celebration of an ancient era and current social concerns
