This series was informed by a long period of hearing loss and is a reflection of life viewed through the minutiae of my domestic surroundings. The work was partly created as a response to the practical effects of silence, being able to observe undisturbed. More importantly it expresses visually the emotional impact of this time in my life, the camera is employed as a psychological device to slow down the world around us, almost to amplify the invisible.
